Nutrition during events plays a critical role in performance outcomes. This module explores how to help athletes fuel properly during training and competition, provides guidelines on macronutrient intake to enhance athletic performance, discusses the impact of environmental conditions on nutrition strategies, and outlines the importance of hydration during exercise. Exercise physiologists will gain the knowledge required to ensure their athletes are obtaining optimal fuel during events to limit fatigue, maintain energy, enhance performance, and decrease the risk of injury.
