This module offers exercise physiologists a comprehensive look at pre-competition fuelling strategies. We discuss the three goals of pre-event nutrition, the general guidelines for macronutrient and fluid intake, specific foods for competition, and the two categories of foods to avoid before competition.  By the end of this module exercise physiologists will have a solid understanding of how to strategize pre-event nutrition to prepare athletes for optimal performance.
