Angela works as a high-performance certified (HPC) lead sports dietitian within the Canadian
sport system, including the Sport Institute Atlantic, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport
Institute Network (COPSIN), the Canadian Olympic Committee, and the Professional Women’s
Hockey League (PWHL) Canada for the past 20 years.
Angela was the lead performance
dietitian at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, 2018 Peyong Chang Winter Olympics, 2020
Tokyo Summer Olympics, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics along with many PanAmerican
games and Canada Games. She works independently with many provincial and national sport
organizations and community-based athletes and teams to optimize their nutrition for
performance goals.
Angela is also an adjunct professor at Mount Saint Vincent University in
Halifax Nova Scotia in the Department of Applied Human Nutrition.
Angela holds a Masters in Adult Education and graduated from the International Olympic
Committee (IOC) with a Diploma in Sports Nutrition and is a Level 2 Anthropometrist, certified
by the International Society of Anthropometry Kinetics.
She recently completed her PhD studies
at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia, with key research interests in the area of
foodservice provisions at major sporting events to improve athletes’ health and safety. Having
worked many Olympic Games and national sporting events as a foodservice sports dietitian with
major catering companies, she brings a unique blend of knowledge between mass catering and
the nutrition requirements of high-performance athletes.
Angela can usually be found in the rink or out on her bike, running the roads or in a hot yoga
class!
